Chamomile – benefits for skin

chamomile Chamomile is frequently added to skin cosmetics to serve as an emollient and for it’s anti- inflammatory effects. Chemical components of chamomile extract have demonstrated anti-inflammatory, antigenotoxic and anticancer properties.

Alpha- bisabolol , a compound in chamomile reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and accelerates the healing process of the skin.

  • apply a cooled  cup of chamomile tea as a face wash and you will observe a healthy skin.

Use chamomile as an astringent and moisturizer for skin. Excess of oil in the sebaceous glands of skin can cause acne and blocked pores. Apply cooled chamomile tea with a cotton ball on affected skin area and leave it, it helps to treat existing acne and blackheads and your open pores will be cleaned.

Add fresh flower heads to a cool bath and your sunburns and itchy skin will be relieved.

Chamomile herb has anti-inflammatory effects that may help eczema and other minor skin problems.

Chamomile containing flavonoids, treats dermatitis related inflammations by preventing the release of histamire – a chemical that cause swelling, itching and redness.

The chemical content of plant helps you in obtaining a smooth and relaxed skin, especially if you have a sensitive type of skin.

Advices for oily skin

Oily-Skin  Oily skin is a common problem, caused by over active sebaceous glands, that produces a substance called sebum. When the skin produces excessive sebum,  it becomes  heavy and thick in texture. The oilier the skin is, the dirtier the skin feels and looks, to prevent this feeling it’s important to keep the skin clean.

Managing oily skin can be challenging for many people. Here are some suggestions so you can take care of your oily skin:

Make scrubs : you can mix oatmeal with aloe vera, rub gently over your skin, leave on 20 minutes, then wash carefully.

Citrus oils like lemons, grapefruit , orange can help oily skin. You can refresh your face with a mixture of lemon juice and cucumber juice, apply to skin, leave on few minutes then wash it.

Tomatoes containing antioxidants, vitamin C and A, have astringent properties and are helpful for oily skin and acne:

  • mix tomatoes  juice with honey, the apply over your face, leave on 15 minutes , then wash with cold water (cold water closes skin pores).

Use aloe vera, to remove some of the oil from your skin. If your pores are clogged, you can use aloe vera to clean them out.

Sage and peppermint have astringent properties. Mix sage and pepermint in a cup, fill it with boiling water, leave it for 20 minutes, strain and let it cool before applying over face, is an excellent toner.

Clay masks (as bentonite) reduce greasiness of skin , also clean your skin from impurities:

  • mix 1 teaspoon of facial clay with lemon juice, apply over face, leave on for 10- 15 minutes then rinse it off.

Also eat fresh fruits and vegetables as much as possible and avoid unhealthy fats and replace them with healthy fats from nuts, seeds.
